Sean Tinsley began his career at Amsted Rail when he was 20 years old. Growing up, he had several family members who worked at the company, so Amsted Rail was already a familiar and respected name. When his cousin told him the company was hiring, Sean took the opportunity and started a career path that has now spanned 15 years.
Today, Sean serves as Hot Forge Supervisor, overseeing the hot forge operation and helping ensure his team follows all safety and quality procedures. He takes pride in knowing his work supports the production of key components used in the rail industry.
Leading by Example
Sean’s career growth reflects Amsted Rail’s culture of promoting from within. He began as an operator and advanced into leadership, previously serving as a Heat Treat Lead Operator before moving into his current supervisory role.
As a hands-on leader, Sean works closely with his team, supports daily operations and leads by example. Stepping into a supervisory role after working alongside many of the same employees challenged him to grow as a leader and successfully navigate the transition from peer to manager.
Sean credits much of his success to supervisors and managers who believed in him, along with the pride he takes in his work. He is also deeply motivated by his kids, who inspire him to keep working hard and building a strong future.

Looking ahead, Sean hopes to continue advancing his career as Amsted Rail remains a world leader driven by new technology and opportunities for employee growth.
