Amsted Rail is excited to announce our sponsorship and participation in Rail Research Week, taking place November 17–21, 2025, at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Hosted by MxV Rail, Rail Research Week marks a historic collaboration between the 13th International Heavy Haul Association (IHHA) Conference and the 14th World Congress on Railway Research (WCRR), two of the most preeminent events in the global rail industry.

Throughout the week, Amsted Rail will showcase our latest advancements in rail technology and engineering innovation, including the DraftMaster™ draft gear and Motion Control® bogie system. Exhibiting alongside us, Amsted Digital Solutions® will feature the IQ Series™ gateway, an onboard monitoring device that delivers real-time insights into railcar health and component performance. Visit Booth 339 to explore these innovations and connect with our team.

As part of the IHHA Conference, Cameron Lonsdale, Vice President of Government Affairs at Amsted Rail, will present “Plasma-Transfer Welding as a Tool for Life Extension of Railroad Wheels” on Wednesday, November 19 at 11:20 AM.

In addition, John Deppen, Amsted Rail Director of Engineering, will present an IHHA Conference ePoster session titled “Mathematical Modeling and Simulation Techniques for Improved Heavy Haul Freight Operations.” Don’t miss this insightful talk on Thursday, November 20 at 1:40 PM.

Under the theme “Inspiring innovative and resilient railways,” Rail Research Week will bring together freight and passenger rail leaders from around the globe to share insights, tackle challenges and shape the future of the industry.
