Chicago, IL, Dec. 1,2005 Amsted Rail today announced the acquisition by its ASF-Keystone business of certain assets of FMI (Freightmaster Industries) Division of Progress Rail. FMI, located in Ft. Worth, TX, is a manufacturer of hydraulic cushion units.
Amsted Rail intends to integrate the FMI cushion units business into ASF-Keystone's business in Camp Hill, PA. The combined buiness is expected to continue to pursue design and quality improvements which will benefit overall rail industry performance.
Amsted Rail is a leading supplier to the rail industry through its Griffin Wheel, Brenco (bearings) and ASF-Keystone businesses.
