Generation
2000 Bearing, Class K
Developed to address the problem of excessive
axle deflections which lead to fretting, cone back face wear
and loose components, this shorter bearing design allows for
a stronger axle journal. While still fitting current sideframes
and trucks, the Generation 2000 bearing improves bearing retention
and reduces bearing centerline deflection by 57% and stress
by 25% with Class K at 286,000 lb. loading.
Because greater demands are put on the bearing in the form
of higher loads and longer wheel life, Generation 2000 comes
standard with our ST-212 seal and specially formulated synthetic
and premium greases. These items combine to keep torque and
temperatures, as well as wear rates, extremely low. |
