 ASF-Keystone's Quik-Draw™ slackless drawbar
arrangement allows semi-permanent connections between railcars.
The Quik-DrawTM arrangment is installed in the standard 24-5/8
inch draft gear pocket and utilizes the standard AAR Y45AE
yoke, Y46AE follower and Y47 coupler pin. Slack reduction of
60% is realized in a 116-car unit train.
Weight reduction per connection is 486 lbs when compared to
the standard E coupler connection and 650 lbs. compared to
the F coupler connection. The QuickdrawTM slackless drawbar
has a long service history with over 10,000 units in service.
