Subject: Wheel Set Job Codes Updated Effective April 1, 2002

A Town Hall meeting was held in Chicago, IL on January 31, 2002 to review the newly implemented wheel set billing changes.  At that meeting, concerns were expressed regarding notification for revisions of Labor Time Standards, as well as significant changes in material prices affecting job codes.

Please be advised that Job Codes 3328, 3329, 3330, 3331, 3333, 3334, 3336, 3337, 3338, 3339 and 3340, which are contained in Field and Office Manual Rule 44, have been revised.  Effective April 1, 2002, these job codes will reflect a labor time standard of .843 hours versus .819 on January 1, 2002, as approved by the Car Repair Billing and Arbitration and Rules Committees.  Also be advised that material charges in Wheel Set Job Codes 3328, 3329, 3330, 3331, 3333, 3334, 3336, 3337, and 3338 have increased based upon the results of the first quarter Material Price Survey.  The two exceptions are Job Codes 3339 and 3340, both of which decreased slightly.
