Subject: Implementation of Revision to Section H, Standard S-710 (Locking Plates)

TO THE MEMBERS AND PRIVATE CAR OWNERS

In Circular Letter c-9081, dated December 15, 1999, comments were solicited concerning proposed revisions to MSRP Section H, Standard S-710 (Locking Plates).  No comments have been received and the revisions were approved.  The following revisions to the material note on Page H-29 are effective March 1, 2000.

MATERIAL:

    1010 STEEL OR EQUIVALENT

    HOT ROLLED OR COLD ROLLED

    45-75 ROCKWELL B HARDNESS

    .050" TO .080" STOCK

    TUMBLE BLAST TO REMOVE SHARP CORNERS

    FINISHED PART TO BE PHOSPHATE COATED

    AND OIL, OR ZINC PLATED

This is your authority to update Section H Standard S-710.  These revisions will be included in the next publication of Section H of the Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices.
