SUBJECT: Premium Roller Bearing Reconditioning Standards Implementation of Changes to Section G II and H II

TO MEMBERS AND PRIVATE CAR OWNERS

Circular Letter c-8302, dated January 20, 1995, implemented changes effective May 1, 1995 to:

Section G II, Figure 4.46 - Reduce the maximum roller bearing mounted lateral from 0.020 to 0.015

Section H II, Figure 3.6.a - Reduce the maximum allowable con face wear from 0.010 to 0.005

These changes were approved in the 1994 Letter Ballot. Attached are copies of Section G II, Figure 4.46 and Section H II, Figure 3.6.a This is your authority to modify these two Section to include the new figures in the respective Sections of the Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices.

Note 2.
If a Tapered Bearing Rotates Freely by hand but indicates less than 0.001" Lateral on Dial Indicator, the application is satisfactory for service.
