Gentlemen:

Subsequent to a review of comments submitted in response to Circular No. D.V. 2139, Letter Ballot Proposal 4: Interference Fit of Cone to Axle Journal, the Mechanical Division General Committee approved a reduction of the service/wear limit of the roller bearing cone bore size by 0.0005 - inch from the current specified tolerances shown in Section H-II of the Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices.

This revision is effective May 1, 1989. Upon receipt of the manufacturer's revised service limit specification sheets, appropriate changes to the manual of standards will be published by Mechanical Division circular.
