CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amsted Rail officials are considering reopening their Alabama wheel manufacturing facility in Jefferson County. The company has recently held discussions with representatives from Birmingham Business Alliance, Alabama Development Office, Jefferson County Commission, Jefferson County Economic Industrial Development Authority, Birmingham Industrial Development Board, and the City of Birmingham in an effort to resume manufacturing, which was suspended in 2001.
